Quality Technician

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

Quality Technician is responsible for maintaining close working relationships with other personnel in order to meet and maintain product quality, identify, solve and prevent problems affecting product quality, maximize productivity, and comply with regulatory requirements. Responsible for inspecting first piece, in process, and final wire weldments and metal fabrication assemblies to ensure they meet company and customer specifications, as well as industry standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Perform first piece, in process and final dimensional and visual inspections of fabricated wire weldments and metal fabrications.

· Hourly floor rotations to review in-process operations.

· End of day summaries to supervisor(s).

· Use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and weld gauges.

· Conduct final inspections before shipment. Either to the customer or to an outside vendor for painting, various types of plating, or heat treatment.

· Create and maintain inspection documentation throughout the inspection process

· Maintaining control of non-conforming products and ensuring that all documentation for non-conformances is in accordance with Rockford Specialties procedures

· Ensure that all gages in the facility are calibrated and in good working condition

· Working knowledge of ISO 9001 standards

· Experience reading blueprints and customer specifications

· Supports Quality Supervisor

· Adhere to Company policies as described in Associate handbook.

· Follow all procedures as they pertain to this position.

· Follow all quality standards and procedures.

· Maintain a safe and orderly work environment.

· Other tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma, two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Programs.

PC-DMIS experience is a plus.

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
