Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring projects are completed within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cost Planning and Estimation:
• Prepare cost plans and estimates for construction projects at various stages.
• Provide advice on procurement strategies and contract types.
• Tendering and Procurement:
• Prepare tender documents, bills of quantities (BOQs), and other documentation.
• Evaluate tenders and assist in contractor selection.
• Contract Management:
• Administer contracts and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
• Handle variations, claims, and disputes effectively.
• Cost Control and Reporting:
• Monitor project costs and value engineering.
• Provide regular financial progress reports and forecasts to stakeholders.
• Valuations and Payments:
• Conduct interim valuations of works and prepare payment applications/certificates.
• Manage final account settlements and close-out procedures.
• Risk Management:
• Identify commercial risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Ensure project budgets and financial controls are maintained.

Requirements:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts
• Proficiency in MS Excel, AutoCAD, Planswift and quantity surveying software
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience high-rise building projects.
• Knowledge of local construction laws and regulations.
