Job summary
The Quantity Surveyor will play a critical role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of construction projects, ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on time. This role is essential for the effective management of costs relating to engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, and overheads, to assist in the budgeting and planning process.
- Contract Management: Handle and negotiate contract terms with contractors and subcontractors, ensuring legal and financial aspects are aligned with project goals.
- Budget Monitoring: Maintain financial control throughout projects by monitoring cost variations and implementing corrective measures when necessary.
- Valuation of Work: Evaluate completed work and arrange payments to contractors, ensuring all work is measured accurately and fairly.
- Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate these risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Software Proficiency: AutoCAD, MS-Office, Revit
Key Requirements
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in quantity surveying within the real estate or construction industry.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (B.Tech/B.E.) or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in professional bodies such as RICS or equivalent is advantageous
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations
