Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying in the construction industry.
- Excellent understanding of construction contracts, cost controlling and procurement processes
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials.
- Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.
- Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Providing detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment during the design phase.
- Budget Management: Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction process to prevent overruns.
- Tendering & Contracts: Preparing tender documents, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts with contractors and suppliers.
- Contract Administration: Managing contracts and ensuring payments are accurate and timely.
- Risk Management: Identifying commercial risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
- Quality & Legal Standards: Ensuring the project meets the required quality and legal standards.
- Client Liaison: Working closely with clients to understand their needs and keep them informed about project costs and progress.
- Pre-Contract: Cost planning, feasibility studies, and preparing tender and contract documents.
- During Construction (Post-Contract): Cost monitoring, managing variations, valuing completed work, and overseeing payments.
- Post-Completion: Assisting with final valuations and helping to resolve any final disputes.
