Quantity Surveyor – Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing contractual, commercial, and cost-related aspects of construction and engineering projects from tender stage through project completion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Variation Preparation

Independently identify, prepare and assess design changes, site instructions and variation orders under FIDIC conditions;

2. Nominated Subcontractors' Invoice Valuation

Review and certify monthly progress valuations and invoices from nominated subcontractors; verify quantities against contract drawings and site reality; prepare payment certificates and reconcile with employer's audit.

3. Quantity Take-off – Civil & MEP

Proficient in quantity take-off for both Civil and MEP disciplines using industry-standard software; extract quantities from drawings, specs and models; produce and maintain accurate Bill of Quantities.

4. Unit Rate Analysis

Conduct independent unit rate analysis based on labour, material, plant costs and local market conditions; familiar with international measurement standards; support variation pricing and subcontractor comparison.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in Construction and Engineering projects in UAE
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, commercial management, and cost control
• Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts and contract administration
• Experience in handling claims, variations, and final accounts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying/commercial management software
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently

Preferred Qualifications

• UAE/GCC experience preferred
• Experience in High Rise Building / Construction / High End Luxury
• Immediate Joiner Preferred
