Function and Role
Responsible for managing all aspect of the contractual and financial side of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- To liaise closely with the Project Manager / Project Director on all commercial matters to jointly maximum commercial benefit from a project.
- To assist the Project Manager / Project Director in identifying circumstances occuring on the project, which entitle the Company to additional monies o rtime and ensure that contractual notices are give within the time limit set down in the Contract.
- To produce monthly Contractual Cost Value Reconciliation (CCVR), Forecast Reports and any other commercial reports as required.
- Monitor all Project correspondence for commercial issues and initiate commercial correspondence
- To identify areas of commercial risk on the Project as early as possible and review with the Project Manager ways avoiding that risk.
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of quantity surveying principles and practices
- Knowledge of infrastructure, roads, marine, and utilities construction projects
- Proficiency in cost estimation and budgeting
- Ability to perform cost analysis and value engineering
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Proficient in using relevant software and tools for quantity surveying
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
