Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Sonography Technician to perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols. The Sonography Technician will be responsible for producing high-quality images, ensuring patient safety and comfort, and maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, a patient-focused approach, and a thorough understanding of ultrasound procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as prescribed by physicians, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular scans as applicable.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and image quality.
- Capture and analyze sonographic images and provide preliminary observations to radiologists or physicians.
- Ensure adherence to safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records, reports, and documentation in compliance with hospital and statutory requirements.
- Follow guidelines under the PCPNDT Act and ensure proper documentation and confidentiality.
- Coordinate with radiologists, doctors, nurses, and administrative staff for smooth workflow.
- Assist in scheduling procedures and managing daily workloads.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Ultrasound / Sonography or equivalent.
- Valid registration with relevant authorities; PCPNDT certification mandatory.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Sonography Technician; hospital experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment, anatomy, and scanning techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and patient care skills.
- Commitment to ethical practices, confidentiality, and regulatory compliance.
