Ranch Hand

Private cattle ranch seeking the assistance of an experienced Ranch Hand.

Job Duties

• Monitors the breeding and raising of seventy-five head of cattle through recognized breeding practices to ensure quality stock improvement
• Assists with harvesting hay and pecans
• Welds equipment and machinery as needed to meet quality and safety regulations
• Monitors crop production operations, such as planning, tiling, planting, fertilizing, cultivating, shredding, spraying, and harvesting
• Manages ranch dumping cycles and the disposal of all debris, litter, and clutter on grounds
• Assists with maintaining ranch structures, such as building, fences, and roads
• Completes additional work-related tasks as advised by Ranch Manager

Skills and Qualifications

• Holds current and valid Driver License
• Must have reliable means of transportation
• Two years of ranching experience preferred
• Must be able to lift up to one hundred (100) pounds on frequent basis
• Proficient with ranching equipment and heavy machinery, such as tractors, chainsaws, and welding materials
• Ability to follow directions and instructions with limited supervision
• Displays exceptional listening and communication skills during interactions with staff and management

Contract Length:

90 day probationary period before benefits apply

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
