Position Summary

In your role as a Raw Material Procurement Buyer, you'll support both Austin and Taylor procurement work within a dynamic and demanding 24/7 manufacturing environment, sourcing the most advanced high purity raw materials.

As the Raw Material Buyer you'll be responsible for the entire supply chain of semiconductor raw materials, from vendor selection/setup through price negotiation, purchase order creation, order tracking, days of stock management and vendor management.

You'll also manage relationships externally (with vendor, 3PL, etc.) and internally (Logistics, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and other support groups, and Korean HQ counterparts) to ensure semiconductor Fab has continuous secure supply of material.

Role And Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Inventory management & Logistics for RM Chemicals, including PO issuing, days of stock management, logistics coordination and troubleshooting.
  • Supply Chain maintenance and development globally for all assigned materials, including strong understanding of inputs at various levels.
  • Project management for improvements, cost engineering and other initiatives.
  • Vendor management across performance, responsiveness, order fulfillment and other categories, issuing corrective actions when needed.
  • First line of defense and warning for risk management for under/over stock, shipping delays, quality concerns, geopolitical risk etc. raising timely alerts to stakeholders.
  • Reporting and data analysis, generate and analyze reports on inventory health, supplier KPIs, cost metrics, and other actionable data.
  • Developing deep technical knowledge of material specifications and vendor capabilities to inform sourcing decisions.
  • Coordination and collaboration with internal (Engineering, Material Technology, Logistics, etc.) AND external (Vendors, Samsung HQ) stakeholders to align procurement strategy with business owners.


Skills And Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Supply Chain Management (ideal); Chemical/Mechanical/Material Engineering, or other related field.
  • Strong communication (verbal & written), data analysis, and time management skills.
  • Background in data analytics, coding (Python, R, etc.) and/or system automation a plus.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel); previous experience with ERP and inventory management systems strongly preferred.


All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite. We are not currently accepting applications for candidates who currently, or in the future, will need visa sponsorship.

The current base salary range for this role is between $57,760 - $156,950. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.

Eligible full-time employees (salaried or hourly) may also receive MBO bonuses based on company, division, and individual performance.
