Position Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for implementing individualized treatment plans developed by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). The RBT will work directly with clients to teach new skills, support communication development, reduce challenging behaviors, collect accurate data, and collaborate with families and team members to promote positive outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
- Implement individualized ABA treatment plans as designed by the supervising BCBA.
- Provide one-on-one direct therapy services in center, home, school, and community settings.
- Collect and record accurate behavioral and skill acquisition data.
- Assist clients in developing communication, social, self-help, play, academic, and daily living skills.
- Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) as directed.
- Maintain professional and therapeutic relationships with clients and families.
- Participate in caregiver training sessions when requested by the BCBA.
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Attend team meetings, trainings, supervision sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Complete session notes and documentation within required timelines.
- Ensure client safety and well-being at all times.
QualificationsRequired:
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
- Experience working with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Human Services, Social Work, or related field.
- Experience with AAC devices, functional communication training, and severe behavior management.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, and move quickly throughout sessions.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to actively engage with clients during play and physical activities.
