R&D Design Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative R&D Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing new products and systems, while also improving existing ones. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, along with hands-on experience in various engineering tools and methodologies. The R&D Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution from conception through production.

Duties

  • Conduct research and development activities to create innovative solutions for complex engineering problems.
  • Utilize CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo for mechanical design and drafting of schematics.
  • Implement project scheduling techniques to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Design and analyze systems using tools like Simulink, LabVIEW, and MATLAB.
  • Apply knowledge of ASME codes & standards in the development of products.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to facilitate the transition from design to production.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to validate designs under various conditions.
  • Work with programmable logic controllers (PLC) and Arduino for system integration.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards while maintaining quality control throughout the development process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks and Creo.
  • Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) practices.
  • Experience in system design, manufacturing processes, and CNC operations.
  • Knowledge of quantum engineering concepts is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
