Your Role

Reporting to the R&D Department, you will provide analytical expertise on scented compositions requested by clients. The requests will be handled through the use of instrumental and sensory analysis. At FFC, we expect thorough, precise and well documented results from you as an employee.


What You Are Going to Do:

  • Analysis of fragrances used in consumer products primarily using GC-MS instrumentation and related extraction techniques.
  • Preparation of samples for analysis by GC-MS.
  • Interpretation of analytical data to draw conclusions regarding fragrance composition.
  • Be able to identify and differentiate natural and synthetic raw materials in complex analyses and draw conclusions regarding fragrance composition. Apply this knowledge when making reconstitutions.
  • Creation of high quality validated reconstitution formulas from analytical data.
  • Routine analysis of raw materials to understand chromatographic profiles.
  • Carrying out fragrance cost reductions.
  • Coordinate with various departments to diagnose and solve problems related to fragrances and client expectations.
  • Verify that all fragrances formulation comply with IFRA and other defined quality criteria and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain laboratory efficiency and safety while ensuring proper operation and troubleshooting of GC-MS and other analytical instruments.


What Qualifications We Expect from You:

  • Bachelor’s or a higher degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • Analytical and technical expertise in gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.
  • Minimum 3 years industry experience. Candidates without stated experience will not be considered.
  • Good verbal and written proficiency in English and in the use of Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Interest in the world of fragrances and its underlying chemistry.
  • A strong team player who is open to communicating and sharing knowledge.
