RDA/Dental Assistant

Duties

  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment
  • Assist dentists chairside during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Collect vital signs and medical histories from patients to support comprehensive treatment planning
  • Provide patient education on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones as a dental receptionist, and managing medical documentation

Skills

  • Proficiency with EMR systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for accurate recordkeeping and medical documentation
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques
  • Experience with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners for precise diagnostics
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics procedures
  • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times
  • Knowledge of medical coding and medical records management for seamless documentation workflows
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, team members, and external healthcare providers
