Responsibilities
- Assist dentists with advanced restorative procedures, including prosthodontics and endodontics, ensuring precise execution and patient comfort
- Operate and manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Dentrix to accurately document medical and dental information
- Take and interpret X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and confidentiality
- Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to maximize efficiency during procedures
- Conduct vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations
- Maintain strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques and knowledge of anatomy to prevent cross-contamination
- Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized knowledge of pediatric dental terminology and procedures
Qualifications
- Valid RDAEF2 license with current certification in dental assisting practices
- Extensive experience working in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or specialty practices such as prosthodontics or endodontics
- Proficiency with EMR systems including Dentrix, and Epic for dental documentation and records management
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques
- Ability to operate dental technology including X-ray machines, medical imaging devices, and 3D scanners
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical coding, and medical terminology for accurate documentation
- Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or chairside assistant supporting patient interactions
