Hill Country Dental is a locally owned small group dental practice with two locations in New Braunfels. We are excited with all the recent growth in our area and are looking for a dedicated dental assistant to become part of our team making a difference in the lives of our patients and building each other up in a positive work atmosphere.
Our hours are:
Mon., Tues., Thurs. from 8 am-5 pm, Wed. from 7:30 am-3:30 pm , Fridays 8 am-1 pm.
We never work evenings or weekends!
Duties
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare patients for treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining procedures clearly.
- Operate and manage dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Ensure aseptic technique and infection control standards are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment.
- Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures.
- Manage coding and present treatment plans.
- Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with front desk duties when necessary.
- Assist with complex procedures in specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics by preparing materials and assisting with medical imaging.
- Monitor patient comfort throughout treatment by assisting with anesthesia administration and managing chairside supplies efficiently.
- Knowledge and proficiency in verifying insurances
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics.
- Familiarity with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar EMR platforms.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy.
- Experience operating X-ray equipment and 3D scanners in compliance with safety standards.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with complex dental procedures confidently.
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
