Reach Stacker Container Operator

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Reach Stacker Container Operator to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently handling, stacking, and moving shipping containers using specialized heavy equipment. Your expertise will ensure smooth yard warehouse operations, safe materials handling, and timely shipping and receiving processes. Duties

• Operate reach stackers and other heavy equipment to load, unload, and transport containers safely within the facility.
• Perform precise container stacking and retrieval to optimize storage space and facilitate quick access for shipping or inventory purposes.
• Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on equipment, including mechanical repairs when necessary, ensuring all machinery operates safely and efficiently.
• Assist with order picking using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other tools to fulfill customer orders accurately and promptly.
• Support shipping and receiving activities by verifying container contents, ensuring proper documentation, and adhering to OSHA safety standards.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate materials handling tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and uphold safety protocols.
• Maintain detailed records of equipment usage, inspections, repairs, and inventory movements to support warehouse management system data accuracy.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating Reach Stacker, forklifts (including lift trucks), clamp trucks, Hi-Lo equipment, and other heavy machinery in a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshooting on heavy equipment.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), order picker technology, and inventory control procedures.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling safety practices.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper ergonomic techniques.
• Basic math skills for measuring, counting, and verifying shipments or inventory data.
• Warehouse experience with shipping & receiving processes, order picking, and materials handling is highly preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
