Job Title: Reading Interventionist/Tutor
Compensation: $40+/hr
Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Orton-Gillingham training program
- Demonstrated experience providing structured literacy instruction.
- Knowledge of dyslexia, phonological processing, and evidence-based reading intervention practices.
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience in reading/literacy intervention.
- Ability to travel to meet students in person or provide online intervention sessions.
Preferences:
- Degree in Education, Special Education, Reading, Literacy, or a related field
- Teaching licensure (especially in Elementary or Special Education)
- Training or certification in Structured Literacy programs aligned with the International Dyslexia Association principles.
- Experience writing and implementing individualized literacy intervention plans.
- Familiarity with IEP goals related to reading and language development.

Responsibilities:
Working with Us
- Maintain fidelity to the Orton-Gillingham approach and structured literacy framework.
- Create a professional biography highlighting OG training and intervention experience.
- Respond promptly to tutoring opportunities.
- Log sessions within 48 hours, including instructional focus and student progress notes.
- Provide feedback on curricular resources and instructional supports.
Working with Students
- Conduct informal literacy assessments to determine student skill levels.
- Develop individualized, sequential intervention plans aligned with OG principles.
- Deliver explicit, systematic, multisensory reading instruction.
- Provide progress monitoring and adjust instruction based on student performance.
- Communicate periodically with families regarding student growth and next steps.
- Coordinate and schedule tutoring sessions.
- Arrive prepared with structured lesson plans tailored to each student.
