Eden Prairie Schools has an opening for a Reading Support Paraprofessional. The Reading Support Paraprofessional provides scripted instructional matches in reading for students needing additional modeling and practice of letter sounds, word blending, or oral reading fluency.

$21.11/hour

HOURS PER DAY:

7 hours

START & ENDING TIME:

8:10 AM - 3:40 PM

PAID HOLIDAYS:

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

Two year degree or higher, 60 credits toward a degree, or obtain a passing score on the MN approved assessment ParaPro test, which measures math and reading skills.
One year experience working with children.
Demonstrated knowledge of and the ability to read and provide scripted instructional matches to build reading skills.
Enjoy tutoring the subject for which services are being provided.
Be able to explain concepts to others effectively
Effectively communicate instructional matches to ensure academic success
Work comfortably with students from diverse backgrounds
Possess good organizational skills and complete paperwork in a timely manner
Exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment.

TESTING REQUIRED:

All job offers from Eden Prairie Schools are conditioned upon passing a pre-employment criminal background check and ISD 272 School Board approval. Offers for these positions will also be conditioned upon passing a pre-employment physical physical abilities test.
