Ready Mix Dispatcher

Overview

The Ready-Mix Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating and scheduling the delivery of concrete to construction sites in a timely, efficient, and cost-effective manner. This role serves as a key communication link between customers, drivers, and plant personnel to ensure that all delivery requirements are met while maintaining excellent customer service and maximizing equipment utilization. The dispatcher monitors truck locations, traffic conditions, and job site readiness to make real-time adjustments to schedules and routes.

Duties

  • Make sure all drivers maintain a clean truck, perform daily DVIR and follow OSHA requirements.
  • Responsible for reporting defects to company mechanics.
  • Demonstrate total competency involving loading and unloading procedures for Ready Mix Concrete.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with customers and vendors, while representing the company in a professional manner.
  • Dispatch Concrete drivers.
  • Create and maintain delivery schedule for drivers in correspondence with customer order requirements.
  • Safely operate Volvo loader.
  • Maintain inventory.
  • Create Purchase Orders for materials and submit them to vendor.
  • You must be able to work independently and make decisions while providing excellent customer service by phone and in person.
  • Notify all customers to let them know what time to expect their delivery and update them if there is a delay or as needed.
  • Must also have knowledge of transportation requirements and regulations.
  • Receive customer orders by phone, email or in person.
  • Assist customers in identifying proper products needed for specific end uses.
  • Advise customers on Company order confirmation and delivery policies.
  • Create customer orders and invoices in POS.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
  • Check job sites for access.
  • Load plant.
  • Batch plant.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in clearing house.
  • Drug testing program.
  • Pre-employment physical.
  • Background check.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of concrete production and delivery processes.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Basic computer skills and data entry abilities.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday (Must be able to work on Saturday)

There will be overtime.
