Job Summary

The Ready-Mix Driver is responsible for safely transporting freshly mixed concrete from the batch plant to job sites. This position requires strong attention to safety, the ability to perform normal equipment adjustments, and excellent customer service skills. We are seeking candidates with a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and commitment to dependable service.

Compensation

$34.00 – $38.00 hourly (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Safely deliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites
• Operate a multi-axle mixer truck in compliance with traffic laws
• Clean and wash mixer truck, removing concrete buildup as needed
• Follow all company, state, and federal safety regulations
• Communicate with dispatch and plant personnel via radio
• Report incidents or injuries promptly to management
• Attend scheduled safety meetings
• Work flexible schedules based on customer demands, including overtime, weekends, and nights

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid Commercial Class A or B CDL with airbrakes and tank endorsement
• Current DOT Medical Certificate
• Safe driving record (H-6 DMV printout required)
• No serious moving violations in past 36 months
• No more than two violations in past 24 months
• Ability to read maps, follow GPS directions, and understand verbal instructions
• Knowledge of concrete slumps
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Ability to work in extreme hot/cold weather
• Physical ability to climb, stoop, bend, squat, and lift up to 60 lbs. (extension chutes)
• Ability to sit, shift gears, and drive for extended periods

Preferred

• 2+ years of commercial driving experience
• Experience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries

Conditions of Employment

• Must pass a post-offer pre-employment physical, drug/alcohol screening, and background check
• FMCSA regulated on-going drug/alcohol testing may apply
