READYMIX TRUCK DRIVER/PLT#2- ABILENE, TX

NOW HIRING READYMIX TRUCK DRIVER **

SUMMARY: It is the primary duty of this position to safely and efficiently deliver readymix concrete, in spec, to and from the plant to the jobsite.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

- Operate any assigned vehicle.

- Maintain a clean and safe vehicle.

- Perform all aspects of the operational specifications of the assigned vehicle.

- Maintain all required safety equipment, including personal protection (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed footwear and vehicular equipment-triangles, fire extinguisher, etc.)

- Maintain all D.O.T. required inspection, driving reports, vehicular inspection, and licensing paperwork.

- Report to work when required and ready to work.

- Inspect each load for moisture content and general quality.

- Maintain health such that will allow passing physical examinations and drug & alcohol tests.

- Maintain a positive attitude with fellow workers, customers and supervisors.

- Maintain a professional appearance.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUISITES:

- Possess a valid Class A or B CDL (Texas) license.

- Pass a DOT physical and Drug Screen.

- Be able to communicate effectively.

OPERATE READYMIX TRUCK:

- Must climb in and out of a truck cab approximately 30 times per day, climb 10 feet to clean back of the truck and mixer, safely walk on uneven ground up to 100 yards approximately/up to 10 times daily.

- Place and replace chutes (45-70 lbs.) 10 times or more each day.

- Talk on and listen to a 2-way radio over truck and traffic noise.

- Read delivery tickets, maps and other documents daily.

- Complete in writing delivery tickets, DOT documents and other documents daily.

TRUCK MAINTENANCE:

- Lubricate, add oil and other fluids.

- Fix flats and other duties to keep vehicles in a safe and productive condition.

- Use hand tools (wrenches and drills) to make minor repairs.

- Hear, see and address the mechanical defects of the mixer truck.

- Use soap as needed to scrub and wash truck weekly and wax daily which requires climbing on equipment and under the vehicle to inspect daily.

PLANT CLEAN UP:

- Shovel, sweep and bend to pick up for general plant clean up.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Throughout the day, the worker will stand, bend/stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push/pull, squat, reach above his/her shoulders, and lift up to 100 lbs. and maneuver/handle up to 200 lbs.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:

- Work outdoors in dynamic temperatures (38F-115F) and in dynamic work sites (wet and muddy – hot and dusty).

- Be exposed to dust and construction related environments.
