Real Estate Acquisitions Associate/ VP - Opportunity Zone

Overview:

Our client is a premier global real estate investment manager with approximately $12.6 billion in Assets Under Management (AUM ) , with a team of over 70 professionals. The company is seeking an entrepreneurial Associate or Vice President to help lead and scale its Opportunity Zone (OZ) Strategy, with a focus on OZ investments.


Role Summary

The Associate/VP will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Opportunity Zone investments, including sourcing, underwriting, transaction execution, and ongoing asset management. This individual will work directly with the Managing Director and firm leadership to build out the strategy, eventually overseeing a dedicated analyst.


Key Responsibilities

  • Acquisitions & Underwriting: Lead the financial modeling and underwriting for new OZ investments, with a primary focus on multifamily and selective industrial assets.
  • Transaction Execution: Manage the due diligence process, prepare Investment Committee materials, and drive the execution of transactions.
  • Asset Management: Oversee the existing OZ portfolio, including the execution of business plans, monitoring asset performance, and handling investor reporting.
  • Fundraising Support: Play an active role in capital raising efforts, including the preparation of marketing materials and participating in meetings with institutional investors.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal development, legal, investor relations, and asset management teams to ensure seamless execution across the platform.


Qualifications

  • Experience: 4–10 years of experience in Real Estate Private Equity (REPE).
  • Experience in Residential RE is necessary, experience in Opportunity Zone investing is preferred
  • Technical Skills: Advanced financial modeling, underwriting, and deal execution capabilities.
  • Mindset: An entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to take "ownership" of a strategy and the maturity to interface with senior partners and external investors.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or a related field is required.
