Under the supervision of the County Clerk, the Clerk – Real Estate/Voter Registration maintains real estate records and processes voter registrations. Performs the following duties:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manages Real Estate Assessment Roll, which includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Process and file real estate changes and ensure accuracy of the assessment roll and changes.
  • Verifies parties to real estate transactions through research of deeds using imaging systems.
  • Processes splits and combinations and reviews for accuracy.
  • Updates address.
  • Maintains a list of deeds filed in the Register of Deeds office versus the deed worked in the Appraiser’s office.

Manages ELVIS Voter Registration system, election preparation, and voter registration documents, which include but are not limited to the following:

  • Checks status of registration, assigns voter codes to voter registration applications, and adds new registrations.
  • Deposit filing fees with the County Treasurer
  • Send election campaign reports to the Governmental Ethics Commission
  • Monitors registration of voter list, including updating addresses, change of name, mailing of confirmation cards.
  • Notifies other counties for the cancellation of voters.
  • Prepares NVRA quarterly report for SOS office.
  • Monitors election deadlines to ensure all voter registration deadlines are met.
  • Maintains forms of candidates for office and accurate address listing of candidates.
  • Prepares and mails Advance ballots.
  • Prepares and sends UOCAVA ballots.
  • Manages elections processes including ordering supplies, preparing election boxes, attending election school, answering questions for supervising judges, shredding unused ballots and other ballots when approved, and updating voter history and addresses.
  • Maintain street file in the voter registration system
  • Keep voter registration information up to date in a card file
  • Maintains training manual for election supervising judges

Other Duties

  • Balances County’s bank statement for AP checks in CIC software (audit requirement)

MARGINAL FUNCTIONS

· Answers telephones, assists visitors to the office, and provides other general office support, as needed.

· Provides Notary Public services, as needed.

· Sale of Fish and Game Licenses

· Maintain department phone directory

Performs other duties and deemed necessary or assigned.

Education or Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer and software application experience required; Microsoft Office Suite experience preferred. Must be eligible to be registered as a Notary Public.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Operate a computer, photocopier, telephone system, and other office equipment with a high degree of accuracy.

· Use initiative in carrying out routine assignments and tasks.

· Prioritize work and apply problem-solving skills to resolve problems.

· Concentrate on many different tasks at the same time, while there are constant interruptions, telephone calls, questions, etc;

· Remain open to others’ ideas and exhibit a willingness to try new things

Skills:

· Must possess good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
