We are a civil law firm with 11 attorneys, seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Title Abstractor to join our team. This role is critical in providing accurate title information for real estate transactions.
Essential Job Functions:
- Performing real estate title examinations by searching public courthouse records to verify ownership, liens, taxes and legal descriptions regarding real estate
- Analyzing deeds, plats, mortgages and legal descriptions and outlining the information on a title report
- Managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing changing demands
Required Qualifications:
- Prior experience in performing real estate title examinations
- Strong knowledge of legal documents, terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- Ability to work in a professional office environment
- Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, printers and scanners
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
- May require lifting of heavy real estate record books
- Must be able to travel to various courthouses that do not yet have online records
