Real Estate Title Abstractor

We are a civil law firm with 11 attorneys, seeking a highly skilled Real Estate Title Abstractor to join our team. This role is critical in providing accurate title information for real estate transactions.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Performing real estate title examinations by searching public courthouse records to verify ownership, liens, taxes and legal descriptions regarding real estate
  • Analyzing deeds, plats, mortgages and legal descriptions and outlining the information on a title report
  • Managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing changing demands

Required Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in performing real estate title examinations
  • Strong knowledge of legal documents, terminology and procedures
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a professional office environment
  • Proficiency in using office equipment such as computers, printers and scanners
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
  • May require lifting of heavy real estate record books
  • Must be able to travel to various courthouses that do not yet have online records
