We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with strong legislation and data analysis skills to support valuation standards, reporting, and public information activities in real property assessment. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing laws or rules, preparing reports or testimony, and working with large datasets using SQL or other query tools.

Job Summary

This position performs research and analysis to support valuation, assessment, and public information functions. The role includes reviewing legislation, preparing reports, developing data extracts, and translating technical information for staff and the public. The position requires technical proficiency, strong judgment, and clear communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and summarize proposed legislation; prepare supporting materials, reports, and briefing content.
  • Develop reports, data extracts, and spreadsheets to support valuation studies and statutory requirements.
  • Create database queries and compile information from assessment systems.
  • Review datasets for accuracy; identify discrepancies and document findings and recommendations.
  • Prepare technical communications, presentations, and website content for staff and the public.
  • Maintain organized files, documentation, and supporting materials for hearings, reporting cycles, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with internal staff and external agencies on data requests, reporting needs, and workflow.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in public administration, economics, business, data analytics, or a related field — or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in legislation or policy analysis.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills, including working knowledge of SQL, Excel, or other data/reporting tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical or legislative information clearly, both in writing and verbally.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with real property, taxation, appraisal, or public-sector assessments for ad valorem purposes .
  • Familiarity with property databases, GIS tools, or valuation/reporting software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $4,243.00 - $6,043.00 per month
