Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiver Cum Storekeeper to manage the receiving, storage, and movement of goods within our supermarket operations. The role is responsible for accurate verification of deliveries, proper documentation, stock rotation, quality control, and maintaining inventory accuracy while following safety and hygiene standards.
Key Responsibilities Receiving & Verification
- Safely unload goods from delivery vehicles following safety protocols
- Perform blind count of items before checking purchase documents
- Cross-check received goods against LPO, Delivery Note, and Invoice
- Prepare and update GRN (Goods Received Note) accurately
- Inspect and record temperatures of frozen and chilled items as per municipality requirements
- Identify, document, and isolate rejected or damaged goods using GRV (Goods Return Voucher)
Storage & Stock Management
- Store goods using correct BIN / Location codes
- Apply date stickers and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) principles
- Rotate stock regularly to minimize waste and ensure freshness
- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organized storage areas
Inventory & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records for stock issues, returns, and transfers (Transfer In / Out)
- Update inventory systems promptly to reflect real-time stock movement
- Support cycle counts and year-end physical inventory
- Ensure system data matches physical stock at all times
- Verify item codes and report discrepancies to the supervisor or procurement team
Stock Movement & Transfers
- Handle internal stock transfers between departments or branches
- Operate pallet jacks and store equipment safely
- Complete all transfer documentation accurately and on time
Quality Control & Compliance
- Ensure all received goods meet quality standards
- Reject items with damaged packaging, dented cans, or poor-quality produce
- Follow company policies, safety guidelines, and hygiene standards
- Coordinate with supervisors and other departments to resolve issues quickly
Key Documents Knowledge
- Local Purchase Order (LPO)
- Goods Received Note (GRN)
- Goods Return Voucher/List (GRV)
- Stock Issue & Transfer In/Out Documents
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma (preferred)
- 1–3 years experience in receiving, storekeeping, or inventory roles (supermarket/retail preferred)
- Basic knowledge of inventory systems and documentation
- Understanding of FIFO, stock rotation, and quality control standards
- Physically fit to handle goods and work in store/warehouse environments
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and teamwork skills
