Receptionist at Chiropractic Office

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly Receptionist to join our Chiropractic Office team. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a warm, professional, and efficient front desk experience. Your energetic approach will help facilitate smooth daily operations, from scheduling appointments to managing patient records and insurance verifications. Anyone seeking this position must be comfortable with dogs and children- our office has a therapy dog (a hypoallergenic poodle) that comes to work every day with us, and we also bring our toddler to work when he is not in pre-school.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with enthusiasm, providing exceptional customer service at all times
  • Manage patient scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) system (we use ChiroTouch)
  • Answer phone system professionally, providing information, scheduling, and taking payments as needed
  • Contacting patients for missed appointments, reschedules, etc.
  • Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, acquiring authorizations from insurances when needed, and handle insurance verifications accurately (training will be provided if this is not something you have done in the past)
  • Collect payments in accordance with billing protocols (including sending patient statements and answering and patient's questions about billing)
  • Maintain and update patient records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards- we will provide HIPAA training regardless of your past experience with HIPAA
  • Support administrative tasks such as prepping the office for patients in the morning, data entry, managing office supplies, and cleaning your work area and reception area

Experience

  • Prior experience working in a medical office environment or chiropractic clinic is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is advantageous
  • Experience with medical billing procedures
  • Experience with insurance verification processes including Medicare and other third-party payers is preferred; if no prior experience in this area it will be necessary to be willing to learn these processes
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with health information management software
  • Proven ability to handle clerical tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
