Receptionist - Atrium Lobby

Responsibilities/Pay Grade

JOB SUMMARY: This is a PART-TIME position, approximately 22.5 scheduled hours per week, with no benefits.*
Provides receptionist services for several ECUA departments. Greets all customers, visitors and employees in a friendly, business-like manner. Ensures they have signed-in and have the appropriate visitor badge. Screens inquiries identifying questions, problems or concerns to accurately direct people to the appropriate department or staff member. Observes customer and visitor activity in the atrium area for potential safety or security concerns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Greets customers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

Receives, responds to and/or transfers telephone calls promptly and efficiently.

Records messages when needed and notifies the appropriate staff member in a timely manner.
Answers routine questions and provides general information to callers and visitors.

Receives packages such as UPS and FedEx when delivered to the front lobby. Notifies appropriate staff member of package receipt.
Operates standard office equipment such as copy and fax machines.
Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.(Educational documentation will be requested upon offer of employment.)

One year of office support experience that includes performance of receptionist duties is desirable.

Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Employment offers to all new hires are contingent upon the job candidates successfully passing background, motor vehicle and reference checks, drug screening, and post job offer physicals (that may include pulmonary testing). All applicants are subject to physical assessments as required by job.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment

While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to work in an open space setting, use standard office equipment, read printed materials and a computer screen, and communicate in person and over the telephone.

The incumbent's working conditions are typically moderately quiet.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Supplemental Information

Knowledge of:

English grammar and telephone etiquette.
ECUA security policies and procedures.

Ability to:
Communicate effectively on the telephone and in person with customers, the general public and employees.
Use a personal computer including word processing, email, and spreadsheet software.
