Receptionist/ Medical assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our medical office team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations by providing exceptional administrative support, managing patient interactions, and maintaining accurate medical records. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at the front desk.
  • Manage multi-line phone systems, answering calls promptly and professionally.
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the clinic calendar effectively.
  • Perform insurance verification and assist with medical billing processes.
  • Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in the preparation of care plans and manage patient intake processes.
  • Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Practice Fusion for efficient record management.
  • Support the administrative functions of the office including filing, typing, and clerical tasks.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.

Requirements

  • Preferr 2 years of medical receptionist experience.
  • Previous experience in a medical office or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and coding (ICD-10) is essential.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems such as Epic and Practice Fusion is highly desirable.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; typing skills are required (10 key typing is a plus).
  • Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to better serve diverse patient populations.
  • Knowledge of health informatioin management practices and HIPAA compliance is necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and filing tasks.
