Receptionist / Optician

We have a brand new beautiful office in Elmhurst, and are looking for a receptionist / optician who is fluent in English and Spanish. We are willing to train less-experienced individuals who have a great personality, an eagerness to learn and excel in the optical field, and a desire to grow with our practice. A higher level position is available for interested candidates with experience in the field. We are looking for help during this schedule: Mon, Tue, Thurs 10am-6pm, and Sat 8am to 2pm.

Qualifications

• Proficient in customer service and sales.
• Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices, as well as EMR systems.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English, enhancing communication with diverse clientele.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and experience in pediatric care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients in both English and Spanish, ensuring a welcoming environment.
• Manage patient records and appointments using EMR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Conduct preliminary vision tests and record results accurately.
• Provide optical expertise in selecting eyewear and explaining medical terminology to patients.
• Handle retail sales transactions and maintain inventory levels in the optical department.
• Collaborate with optometry professionals and support pediatric patients as needed.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
