The Recovery Driver is responsible for safely transporting disabled, broken-down, or accident-affected vehicles from various locations to the workshop. The role requires excellent driving skills, mechanical awareness, and strong customer service, ensuring vehicles and clients are handled professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive recovery vehicles to transport cars, trucks, or other vehicles safely.
- Respond promptly to service calls for roadside assistance or vehicle recovery.
- Assess vehicle condition and load safely onto tow trucks.
- Secure vehicles using proper equipment to prevent damage during transport.
- Maintain accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and service reports.
- Inspect recovery vehicle for operational safety before and after trips.
- Provide courteous and professional service to customers during vehicle recovery.
- Adhere to traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance and report any issues to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license suitable for the type of recovery vehicle.
- Proven experience as a recovery driver, tow truck driver, or similar role.
- Knowledge of vehicle recovery techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to operate winches, dollies, and other recovery equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and emergencies.
- Physical fitness to handle lifting and securing vehicles.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
