Recovery Worker - Fixed Term Contract

Location: Medway

Salary: £24,000 per annum

About The Role

Are you passionate about supporting people to make positive life changes?

We are looking for a Recovery Worker to join our integrated healthcare service on a fixed-term contract until 13th November 2026, working with adults experiencing drug and alcohol issues. You'll provide client-centred, psychosocial interventions using both harm reduction and abstinence-based approaches, helping individuals move forward with confidence and support.

You'll work closely with healthcare, housing, employment services, probation and other partners to ensure each service user receives holistic, coordinated care. If you're committed, motivated and ready to make an impact, this could be the role for you.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out assessments and create/update care plans
  • Deliver structured 1:1 sessions, group work and treatment programmes
  • Work with partner agencies to support clients' wider needs
  • Support healthcare colleagues with monitoring, harm reduction and risk management
  • Motivate clients to engage with treatment and community services
  • Manage and prioritise a mixed caseload
  • Meet KPI targets and facilitate groups to required standards
  • Maintain accurate records, data submissions and case documentation
  • Follow safeguarding, risk and organisational policies

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in substance misuse services
  • Skilled in assessments, risk planning and SMART care plans
  • Able to deliver structured interventions and facilitate groups
  • Motivational interviewing skills
  • Strong IT and digital case management skills
  • Understanding of holistic care, community services and continuity of care
  • Knowledge of recovery approaches and safeguarding
  • Commitment to Equality & Diversity
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent)

You'll be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team where flexibility is key, some evening/weekend work and local travel may be required.
