SUMMARY

The City of Daly City’s Department of Recreation Services is seeking enthusiastic Youth Professionals to support our Youth Recreation Program at seven elementary and middle school sites throughout Daly City, California.

Youth Professionals help create safe, engaging, and fun learning environments for students in TK/K (Transitional kindergarten/Kindergarten) – 8th grade. Staff provide quality programming that may include: enrichment activities, homework support, art, dance, science, math, recreation, sports, and crafts.

YOUTH PROFESSIONAL CATEGORIES

• TK/K – After-school programming, 1:00–5:30pm
• School Age (Grades 1–5) – After-school programming, 2:30–5:30/6:00pm
• Middle School/Teen – After-school programming, 3:00–5:30pm
• Site/Program Lead – Manage a team of 6–10 mentors. Responsibilities include staff oversight, customer service, and behavior management.
• Enrichment Instructor – Lead specialty activities such as music, art, dance, cooking, sports, or game

POSITION DETAILS

• Supervise and actively engage students
• Hours of operation vary, Monday–Friday
• Active work time (prep, program, clean up): 3.5 – 5.5 hours daily
• Part-time position: 20–25 hours weekly
• Pay range: $17.07 – $24.12 per hour
