The Acorn School is seeking a part-time Temporary Recruiter to support our summer hiring initiative. This position is ideal for someone with experience in recruiting, education staffing, human resources, or early childhood education who is energized by relationship-building and finding mission-aligned educators.
The recruiter will partner closely with school leadership to help identify, vet, and hire approximately 10+ teaching staff and several administrative members before the start of the new school year.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a summer recruitment pipeline for teaching candidates
- Post and manage job listings across multiple hiring platforms
- Source candidates through networking, outreach, referrals, and recruiting tools
- Review resumes and applications to identify qualified candidates
- Conduct initial phone/video screenings
- Assess candidates for both technical qualifications and cultural alignment with Acorn’s mission and values
- Coordinate interviews with school leadership
- Maintain clear communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
- Track hiring progress and candidate data in an organized system
- Support reference checks and hiring documentation
- Help improve hiring systems and onboarding processes where needed
Qualifications
- Previous recruiting, staffing, HR, or talent acquisition experience preferred
- Experience hiring educators or early childhood staff preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to assess professionalism, warmth, adaptability, and culture fit
- Highly organized with strong follow-through
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with early childhood education environments is a plus

Compensation
- Hourly rate ($35 to $50) or contract-based compensation depending on experience
- Flexible schedule.
Hiring & Retention Bonus Structure
To support both successful hiring and staff retention, this role includes performance-based incentives:
- Retention Bonus: Paid for each teacher hired who remains employed and in good standing after:
- 90 days- $300
- End of the school year (May 31st 2027)- $500
This structure is designed to prioritize thoughtful, high-quality placements rather than quick hiring alone.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the contract period, the Temporary Recruiter will:
- Help fill approximately 10 to 12 teaching positions. Both Lead Teacher and Associate Teacher roles
- Help fill 2 Assistant Director positions
- Build a strong candidate pipeline for future openings
- Improve efficiency and consistency within the hiring process
- Support Acorn in entering the school year with a stable, mission-aligned teaching team
