Recruiter (Shipyard Staffing & Skilled Trades)
Venture Dynamics is seeking an experienced Recruiter to support skilled trades and shipyard staffing operations for Navy and commercial ship repair projects. This position is responsible for sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating candidates for maritime and industrial positions across multiple shipyards and project locations. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of shipyard recruiting experience and a strong understanding of skilled trades hiring, high-volume recruiting, and client-driven staffing environments. Assignments are project-based and may continue based on performance and operational demand.
Responsibilities
- Source and recruit qualified candidates for shipyard and skilled trades positions including welders, shipfitters, pipefitters, marine electricians, riggers, machinists, and other maritime trades
- Conduct phone screenings, resume reviews, and candidate interviews to evaluate experience, certifications, and shipyard qualifications
- Manage recruiting activity through ATS platforms including candidate tracking, status updates, notes, and interview coordination
- Coordinate candidate onboarding requirements including DBIDS applications, OSHA verification, respirator fit testing, and pre-employment documentation
- Maintain communication with hiring managers, project coordinators, and candidates regarding hiring needs, interviews, start dates, and project updates
- Build and maintain pipelines of local and non-local skilled trades candidates for current and future shipyard projects
- Support recruiting efforts for multiple shipyards, contractors, and maritime clients while meeting staffing deadlines and production demands
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recruiting experience supporting shipyard, maritime, industrial, or skilled trades staffing
- Experience recruiting for positions such as structural welders, aluminum welders, shipfitters, pipefitters, marine electricians, riggers, or machinists
- Strong understanding of shipyard hiring requirements including DBIDS, OSHA certifications, and trade testing processes
- Experience using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and recruiting platforms such as Indeed, Manatal, LinkedIn, or similar systems
- Ability to manage multiple open requisitions in a fast-paced staffing environment
- Strong communication, organizational, and follow-up skills
- Ability to screen resumes and identify candidates with ship repair or maritime industry experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, email communication, and online recruiting tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Navy or NAVSEA ship repair projects
- Existing network of skilled trades candidates within the maritime or shipyard industry
- Experience with social media recruiting and job board advertising

Pay: $53,888.13 - $64,897.53 per year
