Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid / On-site)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday
Contract Length: 6 months (potential extension)
Pay Range: $28.50–$35.00 per hour
We are seeking a Recruiting Consultant to support hiring needs across a mission-driven organization focused on affordable housing and property management operations. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where the majority of work centers on staffing coordination and recruiting operations, with additional responsibility supporting HR processes across the employee lifecycle.
- Manage full-cycle recruiting coordination for property management, maintenance, and resident services roles
- Partner with hiring managers and operations leaders to meet staffing needs across multiple sites
- Coordinate interviews, candidate communications, and hiring timelines
- Track requisitions, pipeline activity, and hiring metrics
- Initiate offers, background checks, and pre-employment requirements
- Ensure a positive and efficient candidate experience
- Support onboarding processes
- Maintain employee records and staffing data within ATS/HRIS systems
- Support compliance activities (I-9s, audits, documentation)
- Contribute to HR projects as assigned
- 2–4 years of experience in recruiting coordination, staffing, or HR support roles
- Experience supporting high-volume or multi-site hiring environments
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency with ATS and HRIS systems
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- High level of discretion and professionalism
- Experience in nonprofit, affordable housing, or property management environments
- Experience supporting frontline or field-based roles (maintenance, leasing, resident services)
- Familiarity with compliance-heavy environments (e.g., HUD, Fair Housing)
- HR-related degree or certification
