Recycle Plant Mechanic

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Ÿ Perform scheduled maintenance on RAP plant equipment, including lubrication of bearings, changing conveyor belts, and servicing motors.

Ÿ Diagnose, dismantle, and repair machinery components such as crushing units (impactors), screen decks, and material handling systems.

Ÿ Perform heavy-duty cutting, grinding, and welding to repair or reinforce hoppers, chutes, conveyors, and crusher liners.

Ÿ Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic cylinders, pumps, hoses, and pneumatic tools.

Ÿ Conduct daily inspections of equipment and structures to identify wear and tear, ensuring compliance with MSHA/OSHA safety standards.

Ÿ Maintain service reports, log maintenance activities, and record spare parts usage in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Ÿ Previous experience in the aggregate, construction, or asphalt industry is preferred.

Ÿ Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical systems, including engines, gearboxes, and power transmissions.

Ÿ Ability to diagnose mechanical malfunctions efficiently and independently.

Ÿ Often requires shift work, long hours, and potential weekend work to accommodate production needs.

Ÿ Proficient in stick welding and torch cutting.

Ÿ Strict adherence to safety protocols, including Lockout/Tag-out (LOTO) procedures.

Physical Requirements

Ÿ Heavy physical work, including bending, climbing, crouching, and lifting up to 100 pounds.

Work Environment

Ÿ Frequently working outdoors, exposed to extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and heavy grease.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
