Reference / Outreach Librarian

The Cudahy Family Library is seeking a creative and energetic individual to provide reference service to the general public and to promote library services through adult programming and outreach services. The Cudahy Family Library is located in Cudahy, Wisconsin, and is a member of the Milwaukee County Federated Library System. The City of Cudahy is approximately 8 minutes south of Milwaukee on the shores of Lake Michigan. The automation system is Innovative Interfaces, Inc.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Plans, organizes, and conducts Library services and programs for adult patrons
• Provides reader’s advisory and reference services
• Works with professional staff to create print and electronic publicity for the Library
• Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Library’s electronic resources

Requirements:

• ALA accredited Master’s degree in Library Science
• Two years of professional library experience preferred

Compensation:

The position is full- time, with weekends and weeknights required. The hourly wage range is $25.00 - $27.00 per hour; benefits available. Paid holidays, vacation, sick and personal leave.
