Graff Foot Ankle & Wound Care is a growing, multi-location podiatry and wound care practice serving patients across the DFW metroplex. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Clinic Referral Coordinator / Authorization & Verification of Benefits to support our clinical and administrative teams.

Position Summary

The Clinic Referral Coordinator / Authorization & Verification of Benefits plays a critical role in ensuring patients are scheduled appropriately, referrals are processed accurately, and insurance benefits and authorizations are obtained in a timely manner. This role requires strong communication skills, insurance knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and process incoming referrals from internal and external providers
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments and procedures
  • Obtain prior authorizations for office visits, imaging, procedures, surgeries, wound care, DME, and specialty services as required
  • Communicate authorization requirements, coverage details, and financial responsibility to patients and clinic staff
  • Track and follow up on pending authorizations to avoid delays in patient care
  • Coordinate scheduling with clinic staff, providers, and surgery centers as applicable
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation within the EHR and referral tracking systems
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, provider offices, and patients professionally and efficiently
  • Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and company policies
  • Assist with reporting, audits, and workflow improvements related to referrals and authorizations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; healthcare-related coursework or certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in referrals, authorizations, or insurance verification in a medical office setting
  • Strong understanding of insurance plans (Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers)
  • Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10 codes, and authorization processes
  • Experience working in podiatry, surgical, wound care, or specialty practices is a plus
  • Proficient with EHR systems and Microsoft Office
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
