Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems across various facilities. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership qualities, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. The ideal applicant will be proactive, organised, and committed to ensuring optimal operation of all cooling systems to meet safety and efficiency standards.

The candidate to live within 30 minutes of Andover

Working hours are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5.00pm

Weekend on call - 1:4 rota basis

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and test refrigeration and air conditioning units in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations.
• Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to ensure systems operate efficiently and reliably.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment faults promptly to minimise downtime.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings to facilitate accurate repairs and installations.
• Be part of a team during complex projects, providing guidance and technical support as needed.
• Oversee equipment repair activities, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality control procedures.
• Collaborate with construction teams during new installations or upgrades of cooling systems.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and system performance data.

Experience

• Proven experience in refrigeration, air conditioning, or HVAC engineering roles.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with a focus on equipment repair and maintenance.
• Familiarity with schematics, technical diagrams, and system troubleshooting techniques.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in supervising or guiding maintenance teams or contractors.
• Experience working within construction environments or during system installation projects is advantageous.
• Knowledge of safety standards related to refrigeration and air conditioning systems is essential. Pay: £36,400.00-£43,680.00 per year
