Job Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and dynamic Regional Director of Nursing to oversee nursing operations across multiple healthcare facilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in nursing administration, with a strong background in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings. This leadership role requires strategic oversight of clinical services, staff management, compliance, and quality assurance to ensure the delivery of exceptional resident-centered care. The Regional Director of Nursing will serve as a vital link between facility teams and executive leadership, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for nursing services across all assigned facilities, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and organizational policies.
- Supervise and mentor nurse managers and clinical staff, promoting professional development and maintaining high levels of staff engagement.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of care plans tailored to residents' individual needs, including those requiring specialized services such as hospice or home health.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, Medicare requirements, and state-specific licensing standards.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics using EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems to maintain quality assurance.
- Review medical records and documentation regularly to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to documentation standards.
- Lead efforts in shift management, staffing optimization, and resource allocation to support efficient operations while maintaining high-quality resident care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes through physiology and anatomy knowledge applied in care delivery.
- Facilitate ongoing training on medical terminology, documentation review, and regulatory compliance for clinical staff.
- Promote a culture of safety by ensuring staff are trained on HIPAA privacy rules and medical records confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in nursing management within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or related healthcare environments.
- Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership skills in nurse management and team supervision.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation practices relevant to healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used for clinical documentation and data management.
- Strong understanding of Medicare regulations, reimbursement processes, and care planning requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage shift schedules effectively while maintaining compliance with staffing standards.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with residents’ families, healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, and team members.
