Summary:

Somnium Hospitality Group is seeking to hire an experienced, energetic, passionate and dedicated Regional Director of People & Culture. Central objective for the position is to plan, develop, implement, and promote activities and programs that enhance overall employee engagement, communication and relations while overseeing the compliance of company employment policies and practices with relevant employment regulations. This role will be responsible for overseeing the full portfolio of all Somnium-managed properties. S/he will collaborate with managers, human resources, and leadership teams to promote and implement the organizations’ core values and culture in companywide programs. They will analyze multiple levels of employee and partner feedback to identify risks and gaps, sustain a positive workplace relation and drive best employee relations practices. S/he will be overseeing and assisting onboarding new hotels to Somnium’s portfolio, as well as assisting with ongoing corporate support on all HR related topics. Bilingual (Spanish/English) language advanced competency with written and verbal communication is preferred.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of Human Resources leadership experience within the Hospitality industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times
  • Proven advanced knowledge of employment laws, Federal and local regulations relating to OSHA and worker's compensation
  • Thorough knowledge of Human Resources practices and procedures as well as considerable knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to Human Resources matters
  • Ability to effectively deal with employees and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger, resolve conflicts and collect accurate information
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Ability to supervise/direct both subordinate and non-subordinate personnel
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) language advanced competency with written and verbal communication is preferred

Responsibilities:

· Overseeing all aspects of the Human Resources department

· Administer all Corporate benefit programs to include Health and Dental insurance, 401K plan Workers Comp and team member travel

· Developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy at on property and corporate level

  • Assists in the development, implementation and administration of all Human Resource functions, including recruitment, training and development, benefit administration and employee relations activities, relating to all hotel personnel
  • Manage payroll processes in collaboration with Finance to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives for on property and corporate levels
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure competitive compensation structures
  • The Regional Director of People & Culture directs and ensures the efficient administration and management of the People & Culture function for the entire property and Somnium’s portfolio of hotels
  • To include recruiting, training, wage/benefit administration and compliance with all federal, state and local regulations
  • Provides guidance and support to management staff and hourly employees
  • The Regional Director of People & Culture will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions, ensuring compliance with labor laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture aligned with the hotel's service standards
  • This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for hospitality, talent development, and employee engagement
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top hospitality talent for leadership and hourly positions across all departments, as needed
  • Oversee onboarding programs to ensure new hires are integrated seamlessly
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive, issue-free work environment
  • Serve as a credible, visible and trusted advisor to managers and employees on HR matters
  • Timely address and resolve employee concerns, ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Organize employee engagement and recognition programs in alignment with the company’s recognition and communication initiatives and standards
  • Facilitate training programs to enhance employee job skills and guest service focus and delivery
  • Oversee leadership development and succession planning efforts
  • Ensure timely and comprehensive compliance training for all employees across Somnium’s portfolio of hotels

· Maintain utmost confidentiality in all matters pertaining to payroll, employee records, investigations, and grievances.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
  • Maintain up-to-date employee records and HR documentation
  • Lead workplace investigations and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Oversee workplace safety programs and support risk mitigation strategies

· Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:

· Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit

· Must be able to read, write, and speak English

· Must have exceptional communication skills

· Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written

· Must have basic computer skills including Microsoft Office

· Must be detailed orientated and work well under pressure

· Must be able to work in a fast paced environment

· Must be professional in appearance and demeanor

· Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays

· Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with employees

· Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner

· Possess strong motivational, organizational and verbal communication skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to occasionally walk throughout the facility
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements consistent with office work
  • Must be able to frequently handle office supplies and equipment to maintain the facility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $110,000.00 per year
