LOCATION TYPE:

LOCATION DETAILS:
Midwest - Louisville, KY - 3865 Produce Rd, Ste 208-209


WORK HOURS:
Monday – Thursday 8-5 In Office; Friday 8-5 Work remote.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Event travel and attendance at staff meetings & trainings is required. Event travel will include overnight stays for events.


As part of the event operations team during the event season which runs from October through April this role is expected to be available to work 2-3 weekends per month.


HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

As a key leader within our Operations team, the Regional General Manager will drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction across their designated region. In this strategic and highly visible role, you will ensure regional performance goals are met by setting clear direction, empowering your teams, and proactively solving challenges with efficiency and sound judgment.


The Regional General Manager will champion Varsity Spirit’s core values by modeling the highest standards of professionalism and integrity in all interactions—both internally and externally. Your leadership will directly influence team culture, event execution quality, and the overall customer experience, making you essential to the region’s continued success and growth.


WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide leadership, and direction to the Regional team that drives operational excellence
  • Manage, motivate and retain operations team meeting regularly with the regional operations team.
  • Ensure Hiring and Onboarding of team is in accordance with required compliance.
  • Management of team’s performance to consistently encourage retention, growth and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the regional leadership team to evaluate and conduct annual performance evaluations of team members.
  • Oversee, plan, and coordinate the operational and logistical strategies within a given region.
  • Oversee all departments such as operations, registration, staffing, etc.
  • Partner with sales, marketing and scoring staff.
  • Ensures that their region achieves goals in areas such as profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Delegate responsibilities to various team members that sets them up for success.
  • Establish and Maintain relationships with various venue leadership, CVB/s, etc.
  • Communicate frequently with Varsity Spirit Event Leadership Team
  • Partner with Finance, Director of Operational Excellence and Director of Competition Experience to oversee budgeting process.


Additional Job Functions:

  • Manage all assets such as (buildings, equipment, insurance, etc.)
  • Participate on various committees and/or boards essential to our business both indirectly and
  • directly.
  • Serves in a high-level management and/or support role at events


QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience in budgeting and managing expenses for events profitably.
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure.
  • Proven ability to lead individuals.
  • Proficient familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suites with fluency in Microsoft Excel.
  • SalesForce experience a plus.
  • High level of customer service acumen.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to handle unexpected customer issues effectively.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years industry experience.
  • Prior experience in a leadership position managing people and profitability.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While not participating in an event this job operates in a professional office environment. Largely a sedentary role with some filing requiring the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bending or standing on a stool as necessary. Ability to sit or stand for long periods through meetings and while operating office equipment, PC’s, laptop, telephone will be required.
  • During events the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (5 hours plus) is required. The ability to communicate with customers and colleagues using the following but not limited to radio, walkie talkie, text
  • message and email is required. The ability to lift, bend, push, pull and manipulate equipment that is a minimum of 30 lbs. is required.
