Location: Hybrid 3/2 (Candidate must within daily commuting distance of one of Grain Craft’s assigned regional locations listed below)

Position Type: Full-time – Salary/Exempt

Reports To: Director of Human Resources

Expected Travel: 35% (subject to change depending on business needs)

Job Description:

The Regional Human Resources Manager is responsible for supporting all field HR functions in the assigned region, leading a team of plant HR Managers in multiple plants, providing management of HR functional activities including employee relations, investigations, suspensions, terminations, union relations and grievance resolve, employee morale, recruiting, benefit education, employee training, policy and procedure development, annual employee evaluations, and workforce planning.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Partner with regional operational leadership to achieve objectives.

· Develop and maintain solid business relationships with regional and facility leaders, ultimately assuming role of trusted advisor. Develop sound recommendations through subject matter expertise, insightful analysis of situations and data and full consideration of all stakeholders, and business impacts. Communicate perspectives, pushing back when appropriate, and ensure risks/rewards are understood when analyzing potential outcomes.

· Provide plant leaders with the full range of Human Resources services including, but not limited to, policy and procedure implementation; development of appropriate corrective action for violations of company policies and procedures and federal and state/provincial laws and regulations; and coaching, training and development of local management and facility personnel.

· Lead Employee Relations functions for the region by providing directions to field HR personnel and collaborating with peers in the consistent delivery of HR services across the organization.

· Enhance credibility by taking an active role in the business. Participate in business meetings, travel to field locations, deliver on commitments and provide responses in a timely manner.

· Engage in workforce planning, maintaining an awareness of workforce demographics, bench strength and operational requirements. Develop strategies to address workforce gaps and surpluses and proactively work to optimize talent.

· Maintain a pulse on the organization, understanding employee concerns, motivations, and level of engagement. Develop and implement strategies to address employee concerns and cultivate a positive work environment.

· At the direction of Legal and senior HR leadership, conduct investigations related to policy violations, misconduct, or other circumstances that may result in disciplinary action.

· Participate in union negotiations as 2nd chair. Assist in responding to grievances, mediations, arbitrations, litigation and other legal affairs affecting Grain Craft operations.

· Support the management teams at locations served in implementing the full range of company employee performance management and development programs and initiatives.

· Conduct communication programs and initiatives as directed and assist with the implementation of productivity and efficiency programs.

· Provide direct or indirect coaching or management of HR resources.

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field (or equivalent of Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of related experience) strongly preferred.

· 7-10 years of related human resources experience with prior experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.

· 1-2 years of labor relations experience participating as 2nd chair desired.

· Managing direct reports and experience in a matrix reporting structure.

· Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

· Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is a plus.

· Ability to travel approximately 35%

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time. Physical ability to travel approximately 35%.
