Job Summary:

The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for leading operations at branches within their designated region. Regional Operations Manager will work directly with their assigned Regional Vice President, Business Unit Leader, and Branch Operations Managers to ensure all service level requirements, inventory management, fabrication, distribution, delivery, and business execution processes are conducted in accordance with company process and goals. Regional Operations Managers are responsible for regulatory compliance, driving standardization amongst branches, operational profitability, and leadership/talent development/management within their assigned region.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver profitability in assigned region by driving operational execution across the region focused on efficiency and profitability through standardization of processes and industry leading performance.
  • Assist in Hiring, Training, Developing, and Managing assigned branch operations management and operations and account management processes/ functions.
  • Maximize and improve customer service-oriented performance metrics (e.g. OTD, PPM, and NPS metrics.)
  • Coordinate regularly with the Regional Vice President to ensure current and emerging customer needs are met through resource management and alignment.
  • Ensure the safety profile, compliance, and experience of the region and company is maximized.
  • Provide and coordinate training and development of all Operations and Account Management resources in the region as required.
  • Drive, implement, and ensure sustainment of company initiatives at the corporate, region, and branch level (e.g. training/qualifications program, branch reviews, safety programs, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Regional Vice President and peers to create and implement solutions supporting commercial and market growth within the region.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain to maximize performance of inventory and working capital.
  • Collaborate with corporate team members and act as key project team member for regional projects such as moves, greenfield, and acquisition integrations.
  • Ensure regional and branch capabilities are established and resourced through budgeting, capital expenditure planning, and utilization to drive commercial performance in collaboration with Regional Vice President.
  • Partner with other functional departments (Finance, Human Resources, Technology Operations, Sales) to ensure successful execution and achievement of goals, metrics, and initiatives.
  • Coordinate regional installation and service capabilities to support both product revenue growth and service revenue growth.
  • Perform the responsibilities and job duties of a Branch / Area Operations Manager as required for business continuity, branch start-up, or training (e.g. vacation coverage, branch standup, new manager training/support.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial Distribution or related field, may be substituted for job specific experience.
  • 5 – 10+ years of Industrial Distribution, fabrication / manufacturing experience.
  • Organization and prioritization skills; attention to detail.
  • Highly responsive to and respectful of customer needs.
  • Attention to detail and observant in discussions with customers.
  • Basic business acumen and understanding of operational cost and profitability drivers.
  • Advance Competency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.

Physical Demands:

The Regional Operations Manager may lift and / or move up to 50 pounds and will require manual dexterity and strength in arms and feet to manipulate equipment controls, tools, and other items used to make adjustments and / or minor maintenance. Will use hands, arms, back, and shoulders, to handle installs, position, move items, and manipulate other objects. Could be in a sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, or sitting position for long periods of time.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this position, the Regional Operations Manager will be regularly exposed to working near moving and mechanical parts and equipment. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position in office, shop, and at the customer site. Typical workdays and hours are Monday through Friday 7:30am to 5pm. Frequent overnight travel, overtime hours, and weekend work may be required.

Pay Type:

This is a salaried position ($120,000-$140,000 a year) with the potential for annual bonus based on Regional financial and performance objectives.
