Regional or PT Supervising Psychiatrist (MD/DO) – Skilled Nursing | WA & CA

Post Acute Behavioral Health is a fast-growing behavioral health group operating across Washington and California with the intention to continue expanding into new markets. We deliver in-person behavioral health services in skilled nursing facilities, partnering directly with nursing teams and facility leadership to improve patient outcomes and SNF facilty quality measures scores.

We are seeking a licensed Psychiatrist (MD/DO) who thrives in a collaborative, teaching-focused environment and wants to help scale a high-impact clinical model. We are open to a part-time supervising position or a regional Medical Director who supervises a number of APP's, rounds at facilities, and attends facility psych meetings.

Position Overview

The regional psychiatrist's role combines clinical care, APP supervision, and program development within the skilled nursing setting. This is an in-person care model, telehealth is only used when absolutely necessary. We are flexible with hours and can accommodate your preexisting schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs)
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in skilled nursing psychiatry and behavioral health care
  • Provide clinical consultation on complex behavioral health and medication management cases
  • Participate in psychiatric case reviews and team meetings
  • Attend and support Gradual Dose Reduction (GDR) meetings and initiatives
  • Contribute to development of our behavioral health clinical model (The STABLE Program)
  • Collaborate with facility leadership, DONs, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Lead survey readiness related to behavioral health and psychotropic management (F-tags, GDR

compliance)

  • Support quality improvement initiatives (behavioral management, documentation, outcomes)

Qualifications

  • MD or DO: Board Certified/Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active (or eligible) license in Washington and/or California
  • Experience in geriatric psychiatry, SNF, post-acute, or long-term care preferred
  • Experience supervising APPs preferred
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
