Job Description:

This position is responsible for continuing to develop our customer base within the entire H.T. Hackney account. You will manage the existing warehouses within H.T. Hackney and achieve a better working knowledge of our products and provide direction changes that are needed with the customers. You will acquire an in-depth understanding of Family Brands product categories and manufacturing capabilities, and with this knowledge as the key, you will be able to successfully accomplish the requirements of this position.

Position Summary:

The Brand Manager position will be responsible for driving volume while ensuring profitability within the H.T. Hackney distribution channel. The Brand Manager must develop a deep understanding of the Convenience Store market, retailers and consumer needs to support a winning strategy for product positioning and development. In addition to the position, you must learn the other brands that are part of the H. T. Hackney Brands (4 total) and work in a collaborative environment with the existing team assigned to the H.T. Hackney account at Family Brands. Lastly, this position requires responsibility for the entire sales market covered by the H.T. Hackney company, maintaining and developing relationships with key customers, and requires travel on both weekdays, and on occasion, weekends.

  • Directly responsible for all aspects of growth within the H.T. Hackney distribution channel, to include driving case growth and profitability with Convenient store customers.
  • Develop and maintain Convenient Store customer relationships and achieve company initiatives and growth targets.
  • Develop and work with “sister companies” to achieve growth across the H.T. Hackney customer base.
  • Support the Family Brands Management team with internal tracking, analysis, and sales reporting by utilizing the tools available and recommending action plans for growth.
  • Keep Vice President Food Service apprise of new item introductions, contract timelines, and the effectiveness of growth plan.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Foodservice sales experience, preferably in Convenient Store market
  • Proven ability to grow business through consultative selling.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical and influencing skills.
  • Must have proven business management and broker management experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to travel Monday through Friday, and occasionally on weekends.
  • Integrity, honesty, grit, self-starter, and team player.

To perform the job successfully, the individual should demonstrate the following skills to perform the essential functions of this position. This position will require considerable knowledge of the practices and principles of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills with excellent interpersonal skills.

Problem solving – the individual can identify and resolve problems within a timely manner, gather and analysis information skillfully.

Adaptability – the individual adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and can deal with unexpected change, delays, or events.

Planning and organizing – the individual plans work activities for the most effective use of time. The individual must coordinate and work in association with the other brands that fall under the H.T. Hackney group. Must be able to communicate effectively with the other brands and keep all brands “top of mind” when planning future sales calls.

Safety – the individual must observe and follow all safety and security procedures and use company owned equipment and materials properly.

Dependability – the individual is consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction, and solicits feedback to improve job performance.

Physical requirements:

The position does require sufficient physical ability to work in a typical office setting, driving a motor vehicle, working in the field. You may be required to lift objects weighing 20-50 pounds from below waist level to above shoulders and transport distances of up to fifty feet. The ability to see with or without correction, in the normal visual range and the ability to hear in the normal audio range.
