Job Description


Role purpose

  • Lead team of Sales Unit Leads, execute sales campaigns and ensure achievement of agreed sales targets in accordance with the strategies and objectives set for the region and crops.
  • Develop and maintain a high-performing sales organization.
  • Contribute to the optimizations and alignment of Syngenta commercial policies.
  • Stakeholder management in the region and maintain positive relationship with key stakeholders.

Accountabilities

Business accountabilities at the Regional Level

  • Build market share and increase penetration level in the targeted segments across the region by achieving crop-wise product and value wise sales.
  • Effective implementation of GTM and other commercial policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring & reporting of competitor’s activities including their sales in various markets and sub-markets.
  • Undertake collection of Market Intelligence for the region with inputs from sales force, customer / crop marketing team and develop the forecasts for the next 12 months
  • Effective stakeholder management
  • Act as a local liaison for all issues related to operations and customer related issues/disputes for the region
  • Measure sales force performance and develop corrective/improvement actions in the region.
  • Support BUH to map knowledge and skill set of sales force against current and future customer allocation and product portfolio.
  • Coaching, role modelling and monitoring of direct reports for field promotion and sales activities.
  • Proactively support the new product introduction process.
  • Effectively handle customer complaints
  • Promote and ensure compliance culture of regulatory and Syngenta code of conduct

Knowledge, experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

  • Agriculture Graduate / Postgraduate/Biz Graduate
  • Broad knowledge of agricultural science and use of seeds and crop protection chemicals.
  • Basic knowledge of Syngenta’s portfolio and competitor products and associated technologies
  • Understanding of commercial and business concepts
  • Grower behavior and agro business trends in the region
  • Channel structures and behaviors
  • People management /development skills

Critical experience

  • Proven track record in in sales and sales management (minimum 5years)
  • Proven track record in being a good team player and team management skills
  • Strong ability to understand customer needs, structure and business drivers

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities

  • Ability to execute and manage field promotion campaigns, develop and implement action plans at regional level.
