Position Summary

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will drive revenue growth and market penetration within your assigned territory by identifying, developing, and closing business opportunities for Headwall's remote sensing, research, and machine vision product portfolios. You will be the primary commercial point of contact for customers and channel partners. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical sales experience, a deep understanding of hyperspectral imaging or related sensing technologies, and a passion for consultative selling in complex, high-value markets.

Key Responsibilities

SalesBusiness Development

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve and exceed regional revenue targets.
  • Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities across remote sensing, machine vision, and research segments.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers, decision-makers, end users, partners.

TerritoryAccount Management

  • Own full sales cycle management from lead generation through contract negotiation and closing.
  • Forecast sales activity and results accurately using CRM tools.

Technical LeadershipSupport

  • Present technical value propositions and product demonstrations to diverse audiences.
  • Understand customer workflows and challenges to recommend optimal Headwall solutions, including hyperspectral cameras, UAV payloads, inspection systems, and analysis software.
  • Train and support customers (in collaboration with applications/technical teams) on system capabilities and integration.

MarketCompetitive Intelligence

  • Continuously monitor industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging application areas to refine sales strategies.
  • Provide feedback to product management and marketing on customer needs and product opportunities.

Qualifications

EducationExperience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Remote Sensing, Geospatial Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of technical sales or business development experience selling complex instrumentation, sensing systems, or software solutions, preferably in remote sensing, machine vision, industrial automation, or scientific markets.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to discuss advanced sensing technologies and interpret customer workflows.
  • Familiarity with hyperspectral imaging, photonics, geospatial tools (e.g., GIS), or machine vision systems is a significant plus.

SkillsAttributes

  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding sales targets and closing strategic deals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Customer-centric with the ability to build trusted relationships at multiple organizational levels.
  • Comfortable with travel within the assigned territory to meet customers, attend trade shows, and support field initiatives.
