ABA of Southwest VA is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through compassionate, person-centered services. We are currently seeking a motivated and dependable Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our Group Day Support program.
Position Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) will primarily provide behavioral support services within our Group Day Support program, working alongside individuals with developmental disabilities to promote independence, social engagement, community integration, and skill development. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT will implement behavior intervention plans and support individuals in achieving their personal goals.
Compensation
- Starting Pay: $19.00 per hour while working within the Group Day Support program.
- 1:1 Services Pay Rate: $25.00 per hour when providing direct one-on-one behavioral services to an individual.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provide behavioral support and skill-building services within the Group Day Support setting.
- Implement behavior intervention plans and skill acquisition programs developed by a BCBA.
- Support individuals in developing communication, social, daily living, and community participation skills.
- Collect and maintain accurate data regarding individual progress and behaviors.
- Assist with community-based activities and outings as needed.
- Maintain professional communication with supervisors, families, caregivers, and team members.
- Complete required documentation and session notes in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and team meetings.
Qualifications Required:
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass required background checks and screenings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred:
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disabilities, or developmental disabilities.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Human Services, or a related field.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and actively engage throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary.
- Ability to respond appropriately to behavioral situations and maintain a safe environment.
